Fried Green Tomatoes

INGREDIENTS:
~5 green tomatoes
1 egg
1/2 cup sour cream (substitute milk or non dairy milk)
1 cup all-purpose flour (substitute gluten-free flour)
1 cup cornmeal
2 teaspoons coarse kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
oil for frying

 

METHOD:

Slice tomatoes. Whisk eggs and sour cream together in a wide bowl. Put flour and corn meal in two separate wide bowls or plates.

First dip tomatoes in the flour, then the cream/egg mixture and lastly in the corn meal.

In a large skillet, heat oil over a medium heat. Place tomatoes into the frying pan in batches. When the tomatoes are browned, flip and fry them on the other side. Salt and pepper to taste, drain them on paper towels.

Top with sour cream and add it to any meal!!!!
